The Zimmerman Plumbing team was awarded the plumbing and medical gas portion of our $68 million replacement hospital project that was completed in early 2014. I have been in healthcare for over forty-four years and have been responsible for demolishing buildings, renovating and constructing buildings, and this is only the second time in my career that I have experienced such personal pride and ownership taken by an organization. Each and every member of the Zimmerman team, no matter the age of a tradesman, or position each held – they all took pride in their workmanship, and were valuable members of the entire team. They worked along side all the other trades, communicated challenges, and worked towards solutions.

This is an extremely dedicated and professional team who believes in doing it right the first time, and standing behind their work. I would also highly recommend they be brought on early during the design phase as they can provide many cost saving ideas that can potentially reduce your total project budget. Engineers and architects are valuable, but having individuals at the design table who know actual field work can prove to be even more valuable.

This year Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage opened the doors to a new Wellness Center and completed an expansion of our Hospital Surgery Center. This $25 million project added 120,000 square feet of new construction to our campus in Portage. It is easy for me to offer my recommendation of Zimmerman Plumbing, Inc. on behalf of Divine Savior, as we were overwhelmingly pleased to have selected them for the plumbing for both projects.

The final outcome of our new facilities was enhanced because of the addition of Zimmerman tradesman on our team. On the job, they were professional, their workmanship was top notch, and they worked extremely well as a team with our staff as well as the contractors.  It is clear they are experts in their field with great deal of knowledge who are willing to go above and beyond for their customers.

The renovation and addition of operating rooms always presents specific logistical challenges. Zimmerman Plumbing’s vast knowledge and experience in hospital builds made them an important asset on our project. They were familiar with all of the sophisticated equipment required for surgery and were extremely helpful in coordinating the switchover and shutdowns of our operating rooms, medical gas equipment and central sterilization.

Completing the operating rooms on time was important for us operationally. The Zimmerman team worked seamlessly with the surgery and sterilization vendors to ensure that all of the required equipment was in place in time for our scheduled switchovers and opening.  Because of their experience, they were able to notice ahead of time any issues that may cause delays in the schedule. They were even able to identify missing items on our job ahead of time that would have caused us a costly delay.

We were very impressed with their responsiveness, flexibility and attention to detail.  Whether lengthy surveys, unexpected issues or roadblocks in gaining occupancy –  their team was right there by our side to make sure that whatever needed to get done became their priority. Upon opening, they continued to respond to any requests for assistance and made sure we were completely satisfied with their work.

Because we were so impressed with their team, we have since retained Zimmerman Plumbing to do all of the service work across our healthcare campus and continue to be impressed with their work and responsiveness. I feel confident offering my recommendation for Zimmerman Plumbing, Inc. for any commercial building project or service work.
